Visits can be made by us upon detained/arrested persons depending upon police indulgence and the fact that you have requested our assistance.

Sometimes the police advise that they have detained a client who has asked for our assistance BUT we will not be able to meet with our client until after what may be a very crucial interview about the case. However, as at going to press this particular aspect is being examined by the High Court of Justiciary following a European Decision in a Turkish case where absence of a solicitor was fatal when admissions were made by the accused.

Again if we are specifically named we can attend at prison to take instructions for either an Appeal or new proceedings.

Release from Custody

Feel free to telephone us for an appointment. We can reassure you about matters generally. However, bear in mind that if the precise charge or level of prosecution is not known it is sometimes politic to await receipt of a Complaint or Summons so we can better direct our advice.
